COVID-19 Response

Susan’s House and Pet Sitting is currently open for business
and accepting new clients.

Please familiarize yourself with the new safety protocols for the safety of both Clients’ and Pet-sitter’

Pet Sitters:

    Will wear mask, gloves or sanitize hands before entering the Client’s home. 

    Will remove shoes and use clean-slippers or house-shoes while in the clients’ home.

    Will wash their hands for 20 seconds immediately after entering the Client’s home.

    Will refill the pet’s water and/or food bowl as needed after washing their hands afterwards or use an antibacterial wipe or spray.
    Will empty the litter box as needed and wash hands afterwards or use an antibacterial wipe or spray.
    Will bring their own leash to walk clients’ pet. If the Client’s leash is used, the Pet Sitter will wipe the leash with an antibacterial wipe or spray.
    Will wipe off any surfaces touched with an antibacterial wipe or spray, including door handles, keypads.
    Will wash their hands just before exiting the Client’s home and use an antibacterial wipe or spray on the last surfaces touched while securing the clients’ home.
    Will alert client if they suspect an illness and are uncomfortable returning.

    For Clients that book Pop-in visits:

    Please be sure that pet food, treats, water, pet medications, and other pet related items can be found in designated area.

    For Clients that book Overnight House and Pet Sitting:

    Clients that have booked “Overnight House and Pet Sitting” are asked to wipe down all the surfaces such as: kitchen and bathroom faucets, counter-tops, refrigerator handles, doorknobs, handles of cupboard, appliances, TV remote and other surfaces usually touched with antibacterial cleaner or wipes prior to the Pet Sitter’s arrival.
    Clients that have booked “Pop-in Visits” please be sure all surfaces in designated room has been wiped with antibacterial cleaned.

    Clients are asked to have soap, paper towels and antibacterial wipes readily available in kitchen and designated bathroom for the pet sitter.

    Clients that have pets that require medication, should have medication in containers or basket and placed where it can easily be found.
    Clients are asked to wipe down above medication items with antibacterial cleaner or wipes prior to Pet Sitter’s arrival. *If medication needs refrigeration, again, please be sure it can easily be found.
    Clients that have special needs or require accommodations other than those outlined above, please notify Pet Sitter when booking service and will do the best to comply, but retain the right to refuse service if we are unable to meet the terms of the special request.

    I want to let everyone know that Susan’s House and Pet Sitting is here to provide you with pet care services and has put into place all the precautions to keep you, your pet safe during this time, by following advice from Public Health Authorities.


    Individual essential supplies have been packaged in order to provide myself with the following: gloves, mask and sanitary wipes for each home I enter for Pop-In Pet Care Visits.


    For Overnight House and Pet Sitting again essential supplies for the duration have been put into place so that all areas used by pet sitter, including doorknobs, handles, kitchen and bathroom surfaces will be cleaned regularly using sanitary spray or wipes and again upon leaving.


    Please let us know if you or someone in your home is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms so I can work with you to avoid contact. I want everyone to be safe and stay healthy!
